There are several varieties of bench seats for boats. Many boat benches are built directly into the bow or stern of the boat. These benches are part of the boats construction and therefore cannot be moved or significantly modified. There are also many stand-alone benches that can be installed or replaced in various parts of a boat.

These compartments are fantastic for storing life preservers, fishing gear, tools, supplies, and any number of nautical devices. Some large benches even conceal the entrance to certain below deck compartments such as the engine compartment or aspects of the hull. Smaller benches often contain coolers.

A boat bench seat can serve many functions on the small space of a boat. Obviously the primary use of bench boat seats is for seating and comfort, but the secondary storage option is a fantastic bonus feature that should not be overlooked. Any feature that effectively utilizes space on a boat is a good feature.
